Okay, so, I tried to make a copy of this Fendi bag, the Zucca Nappa Tortuga Small Spy in that Tobacco Moro color. Let me tell you, it was a wild ride. I called this little project “Perfect CopyFendi Zucca Nappa Tortuga Small Spy Tobacco MoroSpecialty Stores”.
First thing I did was check out the real bag. I mean, I looked at a ton of pictures online and even went to a store to see it up close. This bag, it’s called the Fendi Zucca Nappa Tortuga Small Spy, and it looked super fancy in the photos.
Then, I started gathering my materials. I found some leather that looked pretty close to the original, and I already had most of the tools I needed. I spent days just trying to get the pattern right. I drew it out, cut it, sewed it, and then ripped it all apart and started over. Multiple times. It was frustrating, to say the least.

The original bag uses this soft Nappa leather, and finding something similar was tough. I went to a bunch of stores, and finally, I found a piece that was pretty close, but not perfect.

The metal parts, like the buckles and the zipper, were the hardest to replicate. I found some that looked similar, but they weren’t exactly the same. I even considered trying to make them myself, but that was way beyond my skills.
After many mess-ups, I finally had something that looked like a Fendi bag. It wasn’t perfect, but it was pretty darn close. The color was good, the shape was right, and even the little details were mostly there. It definitely had that stylish and put-together vibe like the real one.
Honestly, trying to copy a designer bag like this is way harder than it looks. But it was a fun challenge. And hey, now I have a bag that looks almost like a real Fendi, and it didn’t cost me a fortune! If you really look around and do some research, you can find some awesome copies that are almost as good as the real thing. It’s all about being patient and knowing what to look for.
What I Learned
This whole thing taught me a lot about how much work goes into making these fancy bags. It’s not easy! And it definitely made me appreciate the real Fendi bags even more. Would I do it again? Maybe. It was definitely a learning experience. And who knows, maybe I’ll try to copy another bag someday. But for now, I’m pretty happy with my almost-Fendi.
