Okay, so I’ve been eyeing this OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch for a while now, the one with the open case back. You know, the one where you can see all the cool little gears and stuff moving around. I finally decided to pull the trigger and get one, and man, was it a process!
First, I spent days, maybe even weeks, just looking at pictures online. I mean, I watched tons of videos too. I was obsessed, to be honest. I wanted to make sure I knew everything about it before I dropped some serious cash, you know?
Then came the hard part: finding one. I started calling around to different authorized dealers. Some places didn’t have it in stock. Other places wanted to charge me an arm and a leg, it felt like. It was a real pain, let me tell you. I even looked into buying used, but that felt risky. I wanted the real deal, brand new, with all the papers and the fancy box.
Finally, I found a dealer that had one in stock, and the price wasn’t totally outrageous. I drove over there as fast as I could. I was so excited. I get there, and the guy brings it out. It was even more beautiful in person.
Here’s the best part: I got to try it on. It felt amazing on my wrist. It was the perfect size, not too big, not too small. And seeing the movement through the back… oh man, it was mesmerizing.

After much deliberation (mostly internal, trying to justify the cost to myself), I decided to go for it. I swiped my card, signed some papers, and walked out of there with my new Moonwatch. It came in this huge, impressive box, with a bunch of extra straps and tools.
The feeling of actually having it on my wrist, it’s hard to describe. It’s like a little piece of history. And every time I look at the back and see all those intricate parts working together, I’m just blown away.
It took a lot of looking around and saving up, but it was definitely worth it. I’ve been wearing it every day since.
Getting this Moonwatch was quite the adventure.
