Okay, so, I’ve been eyeing this OMEGA Speedmaster “Silver Snoopy Award” 50th Anniversary watch for, like, forever. Seriously. It was released back on October 5th, 2020, but these things are rarer than a unicorn wearing a top hat. I finally decided, screw it, I’m getting one.

I marched myself right into the OMEGA boutique, ready to drop some serious cash. And guess what? I actually got it! Paid the full retail price, by the way, no discounts here. The price is €9700, the staff told me. The watch was released to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Silver Snoopy Award.

First off, the look of this thing is just killer. I mean, it’s got that classic Speedmaster vibe, but with a twist. The dial is this beautiful silver-white color, and the markers and sub-dials are all in blue. I think it’s pretty neat.

  • The Design:
  • Silver/white dial with blue markers and sub-dials.
  • Classic Speedmaster style.
  • The Movement:
  • I’m not a watch expert, but it’s got some fancy OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer movement.
  • The Case Back:
  • This is the coolest part. It has an animation of Snoopy flying to the moon in his little spaceship.

And that’s not even the best part. I flipped the watch over, and my jaw dropped. There’s this little animation on the back, with Snoopy in his spaceship, flying towards the moon. It’s so freakin’ cool! I heard from somewhere that this is one of the things that makes this watch different from the other Snoopy ones. I guess that’s why it’s called the “Silver Snoopy Award” edition. It represents the Apollo 13 mission and the year of the Silver Snoopy award.

It took over two years of waiting. I heard that even the waiting list is not available anymore. But I finally got this watch. I know it’s just a watch, but it feels like a little piece of history, with Snoopy along for the ride. I’m absolutely stoked to finally have this OMEGA Speedmaster “Silver Snoopy Award” 50th Anniversary on my wrist. It was worth every penny and every second of the wait!
