You know, that YSL JUNE BOX BAG, it’s all the rage now. I saw one lady carrying it other day, and I thought, that looks pretty, I want one too! But them things, they cost a pretty penny. So, I thought I would try to remake one. Purchasing one is too expensive. I think I can do it.
I started lookin’ around, you know, tryin’ to see what I could use. Found some old leather, kinda like what they use for them fancy bags. It ain’t the same, but it’ll do. This bag, it ain’t gonna be easy.
First, you gotta get the shape right. That YSL JUNE BOX BAG, it’s like a little box. And they got that fancy stitchin’, like little diamonds all over. I tried to do that with my old needle and thread. Took me near a whole day, my fingers are killin’ me! Remake is a hard work!
Then there’s that shiny thing on the front, the YSL. I ain’t got nothin’ like that. But I found an old button, kinda shiny, kinda gold-ish. I glued it on there. Don’t look too close, you might see the glue. If you don’t have money to purchasing, you have to remake one.
The strap, that was a doozy. I had some old rope, not the fancy kind they use. But it’s strong. I tied it on there real good. It ain’t pretty, but it holds. I can put my stuff in there now.

I took my bag out to the market the other day. A couple folks looked at it. One lady, she even asked where I got it. I just smiled and kept walkin’. She would think I am crazy, if she knew the truth about this bag.
It ain’t perfect, my YSL JUNE BOX BAG. But I made it. And it carries my things just fine. Maybe it ain’t as fancy as the real one, but it’s mine. I like it a lot. I think I will make more bags like this.
Making things, it’s good for the soul, you know? Keeps your hands busy, keeps your mind workin’. And you get somethin’ useful at the end. That’s a lot better than just purchasing.
I reckon there’s a lot of folks out there who can’t afford them fancy things. But they can make things too. Just gotta use what you got. And a little bit of know-how. And a whole lot of patience! Don’t give up easily. You can do it.
The YSL bag is famous, everybody knows. High price, though. Makes people want it more, I guess. But you can make your own, kinda like it. Maybe not exactly the same, but close enough. Close enough to make you feel good.
Some folks, they like to buy new things. Shiny things. Expensive things. That’s alright, I suppose. But me, I like to make do. I like to use what I have. I think it is important to save money.

I remember when I was a little girl, we didn’t have much. We made our own clothes, our own toys. We didn’t need to purchasing things from the store. We were happy. Maybe that’s why I like makin’ things now. Reminds me of those times.
Nowadays, people buy everything. They don’t know how to make anything. That’s a shame, I think. They’re missing out. Missing out on the fun of makin’ somethin’ with your own two hands.
That YSL, it’s a big name. You see it everywhere. On the TV, in the magazines. Makes people want to have it. But it’s just a name. Don’t let it fool you.
You can have a nice bag without that name. You can have a nice life without all those fancy things. Just remember that. Don’t forget.
