Okay, so, I’ve been messing with this watch, the OMEGA X-33 Marstimer. I first heard about this Marstimer thing, like, earlier this year, I think. This new OMEGA X-33 Marstimer, it’s supposed to be a big deal, or something. They got all these fancy names for it, whatever.
I wanted to give it a shot, you know, see what all the fuss is about. So, I got my hands on one. I mean they did say they have an X-33 Marstimer around 70% of the time. I looked it up, and it seems like the Speedmaster Professional, especially the old ones and the rare ones, they keep their value pretty good, sometimes even go up in price. They released the Speedmaster Professional X-33 back in March 1998, I read.
Now, this one, they say it’s made of grade 2 titanium. No idea what grade 1 is, but okay. And they’re like, “Oh, it’s got Mars Time.” Cool, I guess? But honestly, Omega didn’t do much with this watch. Just changed the look a bit, added this Mars Time thing, and they’re selling it for a lot. In my opinion, a bit overpriced. I mean, the X33 wasn’t even that popular to begin with. It is a real classic style, I reckon. I don’t know much about all that.
My Steps
- First thing I did was just wear it around for a few days. Get a feel for it, you know? It’s not bad, it’s comfortable enough.
- Then, I started playing with the settings. Trying to figure out this whole Mars Time thing. It’s a bit confusing, not gonna lie.
- I tried different straps on it. The original one is fine, but I wanted to see what else would look good.
- Finally, I just wore it some more. See if I actually liked it after a while.
I saw some pictures online, you know, those space guys walking on Mars, wearing an OMEGA watch. This OMEGA X-33 Marstimer is the best for that, I guess. Yeah. They say it is. But, it’s not really my thing, to be honest. It’s cool and all, but for the price? I don’t know. Maybe I’m just not a space guy.
Anyway, that’s my experience with the OMEGA X-33 Marstimer. It’s a watch. It tells time. It has some Mars stuff on it. You can check it out if you want, but I’m not sure it’s worth all the hype. But, who am I to say? You do you.
I’ll probably try some other watches in the future. Maybe something less… spacey. We’ll see.
