Alright, so I got this idea to try and make my own version of the Patek Philippe Gondolo 7042/100R-010. Yeah, I know, it’s a pretty fancy watch, all rose gold and diamonds. I saw it in a picture, and I just thought, “I gotta try making that!”

First off, I started gathering all my materials. I knew I couldn’t get real rose gold or diamonds, so I had to be a bit creative. I went to this craft store and found some rose gold-colored paint and some sparkly things that looked like diamonds. I also needed a base watch, so I picked up a cheap, plain one from a local shop.

I began by taking apart the watch I bought. I carefully removed the straps and the back, trying not to break anything. Then, I started painting the watch case with the rose gold paint. It took a few coats to get it looking right, and I had to be super patient to let it dry properly between each coat.

Next up was the diamond part. I used a tiny bit of glue to stick those sparkly things where the diamonds should be on the watch face and around the edges. It was pretty tricky, to be honest. I had to use tweezers, and my hands were a bit shaky. But after a lot of effort, it started to look kinda like the real deal, at least from a distance!

  • Gathered materials: rose gold-colored paint, sparkly things, a cheap watch.
  • Took apart the watch.
  • Painted the watch case with rose gold paint, multiple coats.
  • Glued the sparkly things to mimic diamonds.

After everything was dry and set, I put the watch back together. I had to look up a video online to remember how to do it because I didn’t take notes when I took it apart. Oops! But yeah, I got it back together.

The Result

So, how did it turn out? Well, it’s no Patek Philippe, that’s for sure. But for a homemade attempt, I’m pretty proud of it. It looks shiny and kinda fancy. Of course, if you look closely, you can tell it’s not the real thing. But from afar, it’s got that vibe, you know?

This whole thing was a fun little project. It took me a couple of days, working on and off. I learned a lot, like how to be patient with crafts and that I’m not too bad at making things with my hands. Would I do it again? Maybe, but next time, I’ll try to be more organized and take notes or pictures while disassembling things. It was a cool experience, though, trying to remake something as classy as a Patek Philippe watch.
