So, today I wanna talk about this wild ride I went on trying to remake the PRADA Re-Edition 2005 Bag. You know, the one that’s like, a total blast from the past, but also super trendy right now? Yeah, that one.

It all started when I saw this bag online and I just fell in love, seriously, It’s so cool! But, of course, it came with that hefty price tag that made my wallet cry a little, maybe a lot. I thought to myself, “Self, you’re pretty crafty, why not try to make one yourself?” Famous last words, right?

First thing I did was hit up the internet, because where else do you go when you need to figure out how to do something? I spent hours, maybe days, looking for anything about getting a similar bag, or maybe even making it, but it was hard to find. I did find some good dupes though, from places like HM and Kurt Geiger, but they didn’t quite cut it for me. I wanted something more, you know? But I learned something! It gave me an idea.

The Materials Hunt

The next step was gathering the materials. I needed that nylon fabric, some kind of strap, the PRADA logo (which, let me tell you, was not easy to find a decent replica of), and a bunch of other little things.

  • Nylon Fabric: This was the easy part. I found some good quality nylon at a local fabric store.
  • Strap: I ended up getting a chain strap from an online store. It wasn’t the same as the original, but it looked pretty good.
  • PRADA Logo: Here comes the hard part, folks. I finally found a seller online who was selling replica logos. It wasn’t cheap, but it was way cheaper than the real deal, so I went for it.
  • Other Stuff: Zippers, lining fabric, thread, the usual suspects. I got all of these from the same fabric store I got the nylon from.

Putting it all together

Now came the fun part, or the frustrating part, depending on how you look at it. I started by cutting out the nylon fabric into the right shape. I used an old bag as a template, which was a lifesaver. Then, I started sewing the pieces together. I am not a professional, and I got my old sewing machine for this. It took some time, and I messed up a few times, but eventually, I got the hang of it. After I finished the main body of the bag, I added the lining and the zipper. The hardest part was attaching the PRADA logo. I had to do it by hand, and it was super tedious. It took me a whole afternoon just to get it right!

After all the hard work, I finished it! It’s not perfect, but I think it looks pretty good. And the best part is that I made it myself. It might not be a real PRADA, but it’s my PRADA, and I love it!

So, there you have it, my adventure in remaking the PRADA Re-Edition 2005 Bag. It was a wild ride, but totally worth it in the end. I learned a lot, saved some money, and ended up with a cool bag that I’m really proud of. If you’re thinking about doing something similar, I say go for it! Just be prepared for a bit of a challenge, and a whole lot of fun.
